ACCA December 2019 sitting experience

ACCA external examinations are much more stressful than I thought. Although I targeted to score higher in my internal examination, but there is a huge gap between the format and standard (and also the creativity of the examiners) of both exams. I could tell that the examiners have "improvised" the questions to focus on the students' flexibility to deal with unexpected changes within limited time and to apply the theoretical knowledge learnt. Like it or not, memorizing skills is no longer helpful. Alongside with the changes in the demand of employers towards employable skills, we have to move on from what our education system has been trained us to be - exam machine.

The process of waiting for my ACCA results is torturing. I couldn't recall when's the last time I'm so worried for my results. I normally am very worried, but I am much more anxious this time. I feel like my stress management has deteriorated. I thought the results would be realised at 07.00MYT. And ACCA appears to be less efficient because I only received the email and sms at 08.11MYT. Well, it's 11 minutes late! Come on la ACCA I pay you so much, is it too demanding for me to know my results at 00.00 UKT SHARP?

Anyway, I'm very grateful about my results. The main reason of my pressure is due to the examination cost. I couldn't afford to fail because it's too expensive to resit the papers! I feel I should've be more chilled with the exams, as pressure has definitely affected my performance negatively.

I still feel a bit sorry because I feel I could've worked harder for my ACCA. However, I doubt whether increasing study hours would help as seems like it's a trend for ACCA to set questions out the box.

Alright, do I sound like I'm making excuse for my laziness?

In conclusion, exam condition is the most important factor that determines the results. Stay calm. Stay happy! Hehe.

P.S.
Kudos to Jia Qi who keep checking me few minutes before exam and buy me food. Now you know the culprit of my increasing fats?
